A Christmas Blessing for you

An old candle.
I seldom light it.
Only for special occasions.
Only for special moments in time.

I light it for you now though,
in honour of the light that is within you,
in honour of the times when that light felt dim
in honour of the times when that light felt bright.

I light it for you now,
to remind you of your own inner light,
to remind you of your own magical essence,
to remind you of your own radiant being.

I light it for you now
for you
your family
and all those you hold dear to your heart -
human
or otherwise.
