Shh…
can you hear,
beyond the sounds
outside your window?
Shh…
can you hear,
beyond the sounds
inside your room?
Shh…
can you hear
beyond the sounds
inside your mind?
Shh,
can you hear,
Beyond the silence
of your heart?
Good evening!
How has you week been? I write this to you after a week camping. After a week out in the bush with other like minded families re-wilding ourselves, our children and our inner consciousness. Re-wilding our inner compass to the innate wisdom and knowledge that our cells thrive to remember. Re-wilding our inner being away from colonisation, away from technology, away from the inner chatter of our minds and the hectic pace of our world.
Re-wilding ourselves back to a pace
that is still and peaceful,
that supports connection and uniqueness,
that is held with compassion and love,
remembrance and encouragement.
A pace that stills the mind and awakens the heart
A pace that invites dreams and conversations
A pace,
And place,
that invites our hearts to connect in a way that life outside of this special place tries (or maybe not!) to do so.
There are many words which I would like to share with you about my recent trip away,
However let me take you on a little journey, a little journey to experience a moment in time of my time away (and a moment in time since my return!)
To begin, I invite you to take your shoes and socks off. Go on. I know! It’s winter. It’s cold. Toes get cold. Feet feel the cold. Yet for a few moments will you take your shoes off and let your feet feel the carpet, the floor boards, the earth underneath your feet?
I will wait for you…
Then when you are ready,
with your shoes and socks off
press play…
Step. By Step -
A gentle meditation for you
Now slowly when you are ready
Come back to this time and place.
Come back to your toes and your feet.
Comeback to your room
to your home.
Now gently and slowly reach down and ceremoniously touch your left foot
touch your left toes
each one of them
slowly
consciously
touch the ball of your left foot
touch your arch
touch your heel
slowly
consciously
touch the top of your left foot
touch the sides of your left foot
slowly
consciously
and gently send a smile down to your left foot.
Pause.
Breathe in slowly
And smile again at your left foot.
Now reach over and touch your right foot.
Reach down and touch your right toes
each one of them
slowly
consciously
touch the ball of your right foot
the arch of your right foot
slowly
consciously
touch your heel
touch the sides of your right foot
slowly
consciously
and gently send a smile to your right foot.
Pause.
Breathe in slowly
And smile again at your right foot.
And only if you feel,
put on your socks.
Feel the sensation of your socks on your feet.
Feel the sensation of your feet in your socks.
Breathe in slowly
breathe in gently
look around your room
become aware of the energy in your room.
Bask in that energy
like a lizard that basks in the warming sunshine
We forget,
sometimes
We get too busy,
sometimes
We overlook the things that give us such pleasure,
sometimes
the little things that make us lie in the sun like a lizard and become filled with the “warmth”
the “warmth” of life-force, of connection, of soul food
It is this that fills us when the disconnect becomes too strong
It is this that sustains us when the busyness becomes too busy.
Bask more my friend.
Take your shoes off.
Sit in your inner landscape.
Sit in the outer landscape.
Sit in both at the same time,
and may you feel the warmth of that exquisite landscape shimmer in every cell of your body.
Until next we meet,
Blessed be
ps/ For those that are unaware and for those that do know and need a gentle reminder, I am travelling for 2 months at the end of August until end of October. My last working day (offering 1-1 healing and/or mentoring sessions will be WEDNESDAY 16 AUGUST. Please contact me now so we can meet before I go away. I will be doing some distant work while away, however my hours will be very limited.
I will continue to write to you and send you little meditations like this one.
Love this! It reminds me of when I trained to be a meditation teacher and we learned to do mindful walking. I remember thinking wow, this is amazing! Its a beautiful practice which reminds us of the ability to slow down and experience everything at a different tempo. 🙏
