Hi! my name is Sam. I am a Gardener and Storyteller of the Soul who weaves shamanism, story-telling and spiritual mentoring with the wisdom of the ever changing seasons and moon cycles, to create a gentle and profound space for healing and transformation.
Soft. Simple. Still. is a place where, like gentle butterflies that land upon your hand, words will land softly in your heart for profound healing, stillness and simplicity. Welcome to a Soft. Simple. Still world.
Lost.
Broken.
Torn apart.
Shattered.
Lonely.
Empty.
Angry
Fearful
Sad.
Fraying…
Fraying…
Broken.
Hello dear one,
I wonder if you can relate to any of the following:
“I have never been the same since (name of deceased person) died”
”I have felt so lost and angry, empty and confused since {specific event} happened. I can’t seem to move past it. People say I need to move on, yet I can’t. It’s been years. Something doesn’t feel right.”
”I couldn’t connect. I got sick all the time. I slept and slept and slept. I was in so much pain…and still I couldn’t heal”
Soul loss
A spiritual illness that causes disease.
Soul loss
A silent illness that causes pain
Soul loss
Is a real illness that causes imbalances.
When we experience trauma, part of our true essence leaves our body as a way to cope.
It is a natural defence mechanism for our soul.
It is a natural protective mechanism for our essence.
However, it leaves us fragmented, empty and hollow inside.
While there are some situations that every one perceives as traumatic - war, abuse, slavery, child sex trade, death, displacement, etc…there are other day to day traumas that also must be considered and named.
For some the first day of school was traumatic.
For others workplace bullying and school yard bullying is traumatic.
For some the end of a relationship is traumatic. As is the loss of a pet.
For others, unexpected retrenchment.
For some the effects of COVID - the isolation, wearing masks, the long-term effects…
The list is endless. I am sure you too can add more…
Trauma can never be underestimated.
It can never be ignored.
It is as a result of some kind of trauma that parts of our soul fragment and leave, staying hidden in different realms of consciousness until we are ready to heal and reclaim them, and bring them back home to the security of our heart.
It is important to note here that trauma is solely defined by the individual who has experienced it, not by society or family or religious or cultural belief systems.
When I explain Soul Loss to new clients I choose one of the two following images:
the first is a jigsaw puzzle. Imagine you have just completed a beautiful jigsaw puzzle. It is so colourful, so detailed and so intricate. It has taken you a very long time to finish this puzzle… however there are pieces missing. Maybe they are under the lounge. Maybe they got swept up and thrown away. Maybe they didn’t come in the box.
the second image is a basket. Imagine living inside your heart is the most exquisite basket you have ever seen. Imagine that inside this basket are all the beautiful things that make your heart smile. Sometimes though, because of life, and because of different situations and experiences, this basket becomes frayed, torn, dirty, and at times empty.
Life just does that sometimes. It causes our basket to become frayed and torn. It causes our jigsaw pieces to go missing.
Sometimes it isn’t a major trauma that makes this happen, it is just life. Life can be harsh. Life can be unkind. Life can be unjust.
Life experiences can remind us of something long long ago, and that ancient memory - be it present or past life, ancestral trauma or individual life experiences - can cause one’s soul to fragment. It can show another gap in our jigsaw puzzle, or it can show that our basket is just hanging together by one strand.
And while still functioning and trying to hold life together,
while still trying to live life as best as you can,
you know that if someone could help you
reweave your basket with the fibres that are yours
reweave your basket with your lost and fragmented soul parts
reweave your basket with hope and kindness,
You would feel whole once again.
I have been facilitating Soul Retrieval Healing Sessions for over 20 years.
Sam is one of the most powerful healers I’ve ever met… I consider her to be one of the purest Souls that walks this earth. If you are looking for deep transformation and want to work with a pure and powerful facilitator, I cannot recommend Sam highly enough.

Soul loss can manifest in many different ways (this is but a short list)
physically - chronic disease, chronic pain, tiredness and lethargy, unexplained changes in blood tests, constant headaches
emotionally - depression, unresolved anger, inability to connect, inability to feel or want love, PTSD symptoms
mentally - chronic anxiety and stress, OCD tendencies, feeling distant from ourselves and others.
Soul loss can be intergenerational, past-life or pre-birth.
Soul loss can be subtle or obvious.
Soul loss can be felt without knowing why or without feeling that a particular trauma occurred, and yet feeling empty and lost.
In a soul retrieval session I help you find your lost and fragmented soul parts. Through sacred storytelling, shamanic journeying and visualisation I gently help you weed your inner garden, preparing your inner landscape for the return of your beautiful soul part/s.
I then take you on a journey to find your fragmented parts and bring them home again…safely, securely, honourably.
Sometimes we don’t know what is missing until it comes home.
In some traditional tribes, the community would gather and hold space when one of their own was sick and in spiritual pain. They understood that when one person is fragmented the whole community is fragmented.
In such societies it is the shaman/druid that would create sacred space and perform the Soul Retrieval healing.
Once the healing was completed all the community would be there to WELCOME the patient HOME…
HOME TO THEIR HEART.
HOME TO THEIR PURE ESSENCE.
HOME TO THEIR DEEPEST TRUTH
They would be there to CELEBRATE
CELEBRATE THEIR WHOLENESS
CELEBRATE THEIR SOUL
CELEBRATE WHAT MAKES THEM SO SPECIAL AND UNIQUE.
CELEBRATE THEIR JOURNEY FROM DESPAIR TO SAFETY,
FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT
They would hug the person and be there for them with delicious foods and supportive words.
They were there in the community to witness the sorrow and the pain, the effects of fragmentation and the effects of the soul loss on the person,
and they are/were there now to witness the return
to encourage and support them further as they gently and honourably integrate their soul part home.
Most of us unfortunately live in a nuclear society.
We suffer alone.
Some celebrate alone.
Sometimes when I facilitate a soul retrieval clients will bring a loved one along to have the healing witnessed and shared. This is so incredibly sacred and so humbling. To have someone from your inner circle hug you afterwards and look in your eyes and say “WELCOME HOME” is a very powerful experience.
{Even when I do this type of healing on zoom, family and friends can be present if the client wishes}
These sessions create empowerment.
These sessions help you walk lighter upon the earth.
These sessions will hold those deeper emotions in a way that honours the grief and anger, fear and sorrow, and tends them in a way that encourages new life to grow within.
I deeply feel that soul loss is a pandemic.
It affects how we treat each other, how we live, how we make our choices and how we care for the earth.
Imagine if we were all able to find, retrieve and welcome home our lost and fragmented soul parts.
Imagine if we were there to CELEBRATE each other after such a healing.
Just imagine what the world would be like….
I am going to ask a favour of you…
If I can support you in your heart and souls journey,
please feel free to reach out.
Until we meet again,
where our hearts can breathe out and our lives can feel whole.
Blessed be,
I wish I could click the like button on this post a million times! Thank you SO much for your work with soul loss, Sam! ❤️❤️❤️ In my work, I come to this from the other side...I work with the fragments themselves after people have died. I agree with you, this is a pandemic. The fragments on the other side are innumerable. My prayer is that we all become as whole as possible before death. Thank you, thank you, for your sacred work to this end!
Beautiful. Soulful ty ❤️☺️✨🙏
