She rises.
High into the air
She rises.
Softly
Gently
She rises.
She rises
for all to see,
A tiny crescent,
She shows herself.
Once hidden,
Now seen.
She rises.
High into the air
She quietly shows herself
Softly.
She begins to grow.
She rises.
Gently.
Softly.
For all to see.

How are you feeling today my dear friend?
How has your week been?
It is the NEW MOON this evening.
Are you one to be affected by the phases of the Moon, and if so, what phase affects you more?
Or I wonder,
does it depend upon what is going on for you?
Tonight is the NEW MOON.
It is the time of the month when the moon shines ever so gently for all to see.
It is the time of the month when the moon is a sensitive exquisite glow in the sky.
It is the time of the month when, if we look up, we see a beautiful crescent peeping out, ever so gently, ever so subtly, for all to see, for all to witness, for all to observe.
Sometimes the New Moon is a slither of light upon the setting colours of the day,
Sometimes she is a slither of light upon the dark velvety sky.
Just a question:
Do you remember how you were feeling YESTERDAY?
I invite you to pause for a moment
and list 3 emotions that you were feeling
YESTERDAY or even OVER THE WEEKEND.
Just pause for a minute and step back into the Yesterdays.
What were you feeling?
How was your heart feeling?
What were your emotions like?
What was your communication to yourself and others like?
Those close to you, how were they acting/reacting?
I ask because yesterday was the
DARK MOON.
The Dark Moon is the time of the month when the moon is not visible in the night sky.
For yesterday, and for some, even a few days before, it was a time of GOING INWARD.
We need that time, my friend.
We need the time before the light shines again to be inward and to go inward.
How wonderful really that we get this invitation once a month to go INWARD.
To sit with the Wise Woman, the Crone, the Cailleach (the Goddess of the Dark Moon) and sit with her in her cave, in her bothy, in her hut
and to be healed, held and embraced by her.
Sometimes this time is really uncomfortable.
The DARKNESS is not always comfortable.
The DARKNESS is not always easy.
For some this is a scary time.
For some it is an anxious time.
For some emotions rise for “no apparent reason.”
Maybe yesterday, the day before, or even over the weekend, you were feeling inward, alone or lonely.
Maybe yesterday, the day before, or even over the weekend, you were feeling lost, or anxious or fearful.
Maybe yesterday, the day before, or even over the weekend, you needed your own time, to be by yourself, to take time for you.
The Moon was in her DARK Phase.
And in this phase she is actually inviting us in for a DEEP GATHERING.
She is inviting us in for the WINTER TIME of the MONTH, for the SLOWING DOWN time of the month, for the INWARD time of the month.
And then, when the Moon turns again, and it is the NEW MOON and she begins to shine her light.
TONIGHT IS
THE NEW MOON.
She is out now and we can look up and SEE HER AGAIN.
It feels a bit like the blossoming of Spring time in the night sky.
The light is subtle. Not overly bright, just a gentle soft kind of light that only those that look up can appreciate and notice.
The New Moon’s light is a soft light. It reminds me of gentle snowdrops that pave the way for Springtime upon the land.
It feels when the Moon is New that a sense of HOPE is in the air and there is a sense that DREAMS can and possibly do come true.
The New Moon gently invites us to open the door, to look up and gently step out.
The New Moon gently invites us to ponder deeply what it is that we wish to step out into.
What are you manifesting?
What are you creating?
What are you even letting go of so you can create something NEW?
Your inner garden is slowly unfurling
It is slowly awakening into something beautiful.
Slowly.
Gently.
The New Moon is a tiny crescent in the sky. It is a reminder that things grow slowly and steadily.
That things are neither dark, nor big and bright,
rather soft and gentle
soft and reassuring.
soft and very present.
So I wonder, what do you want to step out into?
What do you want to gently grow this month?
As the Moon herself gets brighter and brighter what would you like to grow and see open and bud and flourish this month?
Maybe you like to do rituals on the New Moon
Maybe you would like to write your dreams and bury them.
What would you like your INTENTIONS TO BE this month…
it is VERY IMPORTANT that you state them clearly and concisely. Take your time to work your intention. Let the words you use feel right in your heart, in your body, in your mind, and then as you say them, in your mouth.
Maybe your intention is to change something (a habit or a pattern that no longer serves), maybe it is to grow something (maybe to have more clients in your business or to sell more books, or even understand your studies more clearly, or to have a better relationship with your parent, child, friend).
Maybe you would like to write your intentions down and then bury them in a pot-plant to see them grow.
Maybe you would like to write them then burn them, seeing the smoke as your prayer, the fire as your passion, the ash as the thing that will go back to the earth to nurture your dreams, the earth and yourself.
Maybe you would also like to create a spider web of ideas (brainstorm!) around your intention, indicating ways you would like to implement your ideas.
Maybe you would like to stand under the New Moon and look up at her and talk to her.

I am really feeling the new moon today in many ways. The quiet still darkness outside this early morning, the beginning of a new cycle as I get ready for my new moon ritual, this is the first new moon of the 19 month Venus cycle as she starts to descend like Innana into the underworld, and it is my birthday!
