What a treasure, Sam! A gorgeous reminder to me to simply be present, to slow down and make ritual of every action. I love this so much. Thank you, my dear friend! 🤗
Oh bless you Leah. Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing a cup of tea with me. I so appreciate your presence here. May you have a lovely day. 🫖☕️
This is so gorgeous Sam, I love feeling the ritual and significance of each interaction. There is something special about drinking tea. It is definitely part of our heritage here in the UK to drink tea on every possible occasion! To provide comfort, to provide refreshment. To be with friends and family. We still make our tea in a pot, which not everyone does now. I remember those tea cups so well from my childhood and also in traditional tea shops. As always I feel like I've received love and a gentle hug from your presence. xx
Oh Louise, thank you for your beautiful comments. I am definitely sending you love and hugs.
Tea is a pot is my ultimate way to have tea...it makes it slow and peaceful and just, well, it feels sacred. A ritual absolutely! The folk in the UK have a wonderful heritage then if tea drinking is part of it!!!
Louise, look forward to sharing a pot of tea with you again soon. In blessings and love. x
Loved the slow pace of this Sam. And I have seen the picture before of the tea cup and saucer, filled with tea with the matching plate topped with piece of bread. Always intrigued by it. The delicate nature of the set, the fully steeped tea, and the delicious looking bread. But I did not know they were yours! What a beautiful peak into your history with tea, and that sharing with loved ones. Tea truly is a ritual. One that takes time. Just like conversations and friendship. I treasure ours dear Sam!
And I too treasure our conversations and connection, friendship and depth. I look forward to putting on the kettle and sharing a real cup of tea with you very soon.
I loved this piece, Sam. I drink a lot of tea every day, and it’s almost always on the move, the cup coming around the house with me. Each of my mugs are special, and actually so are most of my teabags - I get some from everywhere I go, so each fresh mug reminds me of a different holiday or trip or country. But the sitting down to savour it… that’s the next bit. My late great-auntie had a tea set that we always used, that I still have a piece of. Many parts of her wisdom have stayed with me; perhaps I should imagine I’m drinking with her, in order to build myself a dedicated soft, slow, still moment. Thank you 🫖
I loved reading about your special mugs and special teabags. I have a picture of you sipping from a particular tea and being magically propelled back to that country or special place where you first brought your tea from. It is a bit like magic isn't it...one minute we are here doing ordinary things, next minute we are sipping from a favourite mug and whoolla, we are back in another time and place having incredible adventures and amazing times.
If you ever feel like sharing, I would love to pour the tea to hear what it was like for you to imagine sitting with your late great-auntie as you drink from her tea set. The softness, the delicateness, the slowness...what tea would you choose? what time of day would you share tea with her? would you bake a cake or just have tea and a chat?
Jen, thank you for sharing what this post has meant for you. 🫖
I feel like you wrote this just for me, to remind me how sweet those slow cups of tea are. I used to have tea every Thursday with River, my sister - even when we lived far apart. We'd make the tea together (sometimes over a video screen!) And sit down and chat while it steeped in hand made ceramic mugs. My most precious memories of her. I have a beautiful collection of ceramic mugs, and some matching tea cups and saucers. When I die, I want my daughters to have them and I hope that they will use them for their own slow, sweet moments.
Oh Raine, your post brought tears to my eyes. A weekly ritual of sharing tea with someone you love so deeply. A weekly ritual of stopping and slowing sharing from the heart and soul. A weekly ritual of moving away from the busyness of life to pause and share slowly and simply a cup of tea with someone in a deep and loving space...
Bless you Raine.
May your ceramic mugs and matching teacups and saucers gift you more moments of simpleness and softness,
and may when the time comes your daughters enjoy slowly and sweetly supping from these sets as well. 🫖💖🫖
In honour of theses beauiful memories that sharing tea with your sister River gifts you.
Aunty Howard, Trish and Greta … I can imagine reading a whole book of their tea drinking medicine. Love this invitation to drink tea and be Soft. Simple. and Still. Wonderful!
Bless you dear Hannah. Thank you for seeing the Medicine that they shared with me. I do like that idea..book about The Medicine of Tea Drinking...what a wonderful idea. Until next we share a cuppa or two together...big hugs. 🫖☕️🫖

Oh to make a ritual of every action...I do like this a lot. Thank YOU for that simple reminder. Much love...🫖
Ah, I do have a lovely delicate tea set of my grandmother’s packed away.
I never met her. The set was given to my dad and he gave it to me.
I keep it for sentimental reasons but never thought to enjoy it until I read your sweet words today.
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing and introducing your grandmothers tea set to me.
May in taking it out of its packed state you feel it "come alive" with the wanting to be enjoyed and appreciated,
may that first sip and those sips thereafter always be sweet, soft and still,
and may they gift you and your heart with tender simple moments of pausing, simplicity and delight.
Thank you for sharing a cup of tea with me today. 🫖
Loved this
Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing a cup of tea with me. May you have a lovely day today.
