After returning from my retreat, after no cyber connection for 4 days, I really hear you Sam. It is too much. And maintaining it all takes way too much time. And what I have been considering since I came back is, how can I simplify all this. That means my whatsapp, work and personal emails, even substack. As I feel into this, these apps really do provide a wonderful means of beautiful connection, yet they can become burdensome, even overwhelming. I am in a deep contemplation on this right now, I don't have any answers or know where it will lead. But fascinating to get your post today as I sit with this.
Julie, it is such a conundrum at times...to be connected and yet to feel disconnected. To be available and yet to feel that being TOO available is taking our energy and life-force. To have your own business and too feel the pull of being ever so present and then stepping back for ones own need to fill up... ahhh... modern life!!!
Can we just go back to the old fashion way of writing letters and chatting to people on the phone, please? Life did seem simpler then!
I really value what you've shared here Sam, because I know how considerate you are of other people and you give some great tips about decluttering your emails. I always feel so much better after one of those clear outs. I only see my subscriptions in my feed now, I stopped them coming by email, which was a great help. If only I can remember what I did. I am happy to consume whatever you put out, I'm just not getting round to all the meditations, I will hopefully catch up soon xx
Oh bless you Louise. Thank you for your kind and encouraging words. To decrease my emails is something that I have to say I am soooo excited to do! And thank you for choosing to read and "consume" my emails in a world where lots of emails come out. My meditations are there waiting for you when the time is right...I too at times find that I am a wee bit behind in your meditations too. I know that when I do read or listen to you it is the perfect thing for the perfect moment. In gratitude 💖
