Can we dream a new world together and make it real? Connect in a world that is too busy? Reach out in a world that separates? Look out for each other in a world that looks the other way?
Absolutely love this Sam, we can be led back into community and a deeper relationship with others. It's just that we have forgotten how. I do believe we need to be taught how to do that and once the spark is there, we will remember. xx
Yes, we have forgotten how...and just need gentle reminding. That is what we are all doing here isn't it...you and me and others like us...we are just inviting folk to remember who we really are...on a deep soul level, and being in community is part of that remembering. Much love to you dear one. x
Yes, doing all we can to assist. I just had an insight that we sometimes cling onto the past because we feel as though we will get more lonely if we let go. Yet the letting go of what is not the new version of us, whilst temporarily giving us that feeling of loneliness, opens the door to more genuine and meaningful relationships and community. xx
OH YES!!! To let go of the past, to step away from the walls and fences that bind and hold us in a way that constricts our truth...
ahhh, to let that go, is to feel vulnerable, lonely, isolated, insular, scary and more, and then, as you so wisely say, it opens the door to more meaningful relationships and community.
And as I wrote this I felt also that when we can have a genuine relationship with ourselves and hold ourselves in the aloneness, the loneliness, the vulnerable and then self love, we can then open our hearts even more to others, and the depth of community that we truly want and seek. Louise, I do appreciate this conversation. Thank you.
This is exactly it, we need to experience that love with ourselves to trust, to truly listen, to be in relationship with others from the truth of who we are. When we can view that time as precious and healing it takes on a whole new meaning. xx
To me, I feel it was a perfect storm of technology, spiritual awakening, cycle breaking, trauma healing that wedged people apart.
I’ll be radical with you. Authenticity is the name of my game. When I’m with friends new or old my phone isn’t even on the table sometimes I forget where it is. When I ask how or what’s happening in someone’s life I want to know. I also practice active listening so they know I’m engaged in their life. I’ve noticed when I do these things it’s returned in kind. And a beautiful connection is woven.
It’s possible and not that radical at all, we just need a few radical people to start the movement. 😉
Firstly, thank you for sharing what you felt was wedging people apart. They resonate deeply.
I so appreciate what you wrote here about how to connect deeply with your friends. Such simple ways - no phones when with friends, active listening, wanting to deeply know...I paused to reflect on the beautiful ripples that that spreads out into your wider world.
